Inspired by the desire to offer artists a chair that allows them to work where they want, Axis is a magnetic locking chair that fits in your bag.

With the vision of creating a chair that allows artists to work where they desire, we created Axis: a magnetically folding chair that fits in your bag.

The key component behind this chair is a magnetic lock which provides an physical & audible sensory response when locked and unlocked. This was was prototyped using SolidWorks and 3D printing.

Axis was pitched to the MoMA Design Store but never made it further than the concept.
